I have done mostly dark themes in the past but I thought it was time to try out something brighter.

Switchin LS

Thanks to Jaime-b for his Switch LS theme! I used it as reference for the coding [link]

The wallpaper in the preview is the beautiful Cristina Otero Pascual [link]

* UPDATE!

There is now a dark version of this theme that can be found here [link]

Switchin LS by ~x-spirit puts a simplistic yet wonderful looking bar to the top edge of your desktop from which you can access up to 12 shortcuts, control your currently playing music as well as performing some web search. besides, it does all this in a very beautiful and most inobstrusive way. this is LiteStep at its best.

According to the LSXCommand-2.0.2 documentation the command bar should work and I found no error with the google search so I don't know what's up with that I am afraid. You can set the Search bar to default by switching the hidden state of all the icons the commandbar and the switch button I am sorry but I don't have time to do it myself right now. If you find out what might be the issue with the search bar please leave a note. =)

Glad you like it! Should be pretty easy. Don't have this code in my head but I can take a look. Yes it's google by default and that should work but i'll look at that to.

I installed LS and your theme and everything works fine, except for the following message:

"Please load a desktopModule (Desktop2 or jdesk) BEFORE xTaskbar!
Otherwise you will get annoyng Z-Order problems!"

I loaded jdesk 0.74, copying it into Modules folder, and I changed the theme.rc, editing the *netModuleLine from 0.73 to 0.74.
I don't know what else I missed. I uploaded an img of the SliModuleManager to show you the modules situation:

Thanks for your help!

P.S.: I'm on windows 7 x64

Haven't heard of this problem I am afraid. Have you tried putting the jdesk module line before the xtaskbar one as stated in the error message? That would help jdesk load before xtask witch seems to be the problem for some weird reason. Can't think of anything special that makes the error happen. Sorry. I am not really a tech with these things I mostly go round these errors with trail and error approach. Hope you manage to find a solution to the problem. Peace!

Thanks for your answer. Do you know how to put jDesk first? Cause the SliOnlineModule categorizes them by alphabetic order I think...

Great work! Just a question: How do I get the tray to appear? Whenever I click the 'show tray' button, all that appears is a small black rectangle, like so [link] . Thanks for your help. Sorry if the solution is quite obvious, though I just can't seem to figure it out.

Weird that little black thing you see is the tray so the problem is not that it's not showing the problem is that nothing in the tray is showing. Never encountered the problem myself. Have had some icons not showing up in the tray from time to time while using litestep but never had all missing. What OS are you running? Have had no similar reports either so can't figure out what might be the problem. Maybe the tray module it self is failing to load for some reason.

Scratch that. I figured out the solution this morning. All I needed to do was restart my computer (I'm running Vista). Haha. Thanks anyway! Keep up the great work. :)
